Now what can be better than waking up in the morning and taking a stroll down the gorgeous Suffolk Coast. Whatever the weather may be during your stay at one of our Suffolk coastal holiday cottages, you are guarenteed to have a splendid time.
Suffolk's coastline has something for everyone and one of these cottages may be perfectly suited for you. Take the lovely coastal cottage Bromans Barn for instance; a cosy coastal holiday cottage with a lovely log burner, situated just a 10 minute stroll through a nature reserve down to the beach on Mersey Island, which has fantastic restaurants like The Company Shed and The Oyster Bar; a must for fish lovers!
These Suffolk coastal cottages offer something truly unique where it is not only their location which is special, but the quality of the cottage that you are staying in.
Perhaps you may decide to run away to sea on The Endevaour - a historic sailing barge which was built in 1895, and is now resting on the shores of the beautiful coastline at Pin Mill. The boat has cleverly been converted to include three double bedrooms, three bathrooms, two galleys and two lovely sitting areas.
One of the most beautiful Suffolk coastal towns where three of our cottages lie is Aldeburgh. It is recognised by many as the nicest seaside town in England.
Completely absent of deckchairs, candy floss, arcades and flashing lights, but full of fabulous restaurants, really great pubs, lovely old fashioned boutique shops, quaint architecture, a vibrant arts scene and some great local fishing boats - selling you a freshly caught lobster or sea bass from their beach huts.
Along the coastline of the lovely pebble beach the fisherman's huts perch to sell their catch of the day to the locals. If you are not feeling for fish just a short stroll into the town you will find an array of individual and very unique restaurants; I must highly reccommend the Lighthouse and the Regatta Restaurant - two of my personal favourites. The Martello Towers along the coastline are a must visit - these were built to defend against the Napolen invasion 200 years ago and still stand today how they did back then as massive cylinders of grey stone.
All in all Aldeburgh has alot to offer with it's unique restaurants, interesting shops, historic landmarks, peculiar artwork and of course the lovely Suffolk coastline.
Mersea Island is set on the beautiful coastline and our coastal cottage Bromans Barn lies there. The area is famous for its oyster beds and wildlife and if you want to get completely out of the city atmosphere you could hardly find something more opposite and so close to London.
Bromans Barn in Mersea Island is perfect for those romantic strolls down the coastline and backing into a nature reserve you really do find yourself within a unique part of the countryside.
Some of these delightful cottages by the sea such as Cissys Cottage even have lovely 18th century working kitchen ranges, which you can light up and toast your crumpets on. These are very special places where the history and atmosphere makes them a joy to be in and offers a truly exceptional experience.
Even though these cottages by the sea are filled with wonderful period features and comfy antique furnishings the owners are still very happy for you to bring your dog - even if it means more cleaning for us!
Another great thing about these Suffolk coastal cottages is that you don't have to worry about who will be having to look after any dogs while you are away as these are all pet friendly cottages on the Suffolk coast, so bring them along with you.
